A nineteen year old girl who does not know her name, her birthday or her parents. All she knows is what has been beaten into her. The Omega's Mantra. An Omega must do as an Omega is told. One moment changes everything. It sends her life spiraling into chaos and ruin and pushes her closer and closer to death. A simple rejection, a half severed mate bond and the order to tell no one what has happened. An Omega must do as an Omega is told. A red ribbon for banishment and a blue eyed man calling for justice as she makes her walk barefoot in the snow. Cold winds tearing at her skin and the howls of the wolves waiting for her beyond the tree line but she still moves her weak body forward at an Alpha's command. An Omega must do as an Omega is told. Being saved will always come at a price and the girl Alpha Lawrence affectionately called Mary Mary after her favorite nursery rhyme, has paid the price a hundred times over. Now she must be taught that 'Once an Omega' doesn't always mean 'Always an Omega' because family can be found at the darkest of times and not all Omegas need to do as they are told. Trying to work through the mess of her mind, she tries to discover who she is under the cloak of Omega. Drowning in her memories and her anxiety, she struggles to find solid ground before her problems pull her under completely, smothering her cries as she fights for normalcy. All the while she feels she is tethered to something, or someone, she left behind in the pack that banished her.

"Who's there," I can't breath. I'm always looking over my shoulder ever since- I can't think about the now. I have to run but where, back to Jake? No I can't, everything is different now. He's supposed to be here to protect me, because if the got me... blood smears the pages of the passed. "Sapphire!" I hear him call. "Coal!" I reach out to touch him only for him to be yanked just out of my reach. I hear the wolves in the distance howling at the beautiful moon. I need his touch again. I need to know I'm safe. The only safe place anymore is pressed against him under the sheets. "Coal!" I call out again. ---I can hear her. She's here somewhere I know it. I can smell her sent threw the thick of the woods. "Sapphire!" I call out, but my call is lost in the night. I have to protect her. I have to save one, just one. Maybe that will be enough to clean the blood off my tainted skin. What if they get her? She'll... Change... I look up at the moon, could she not have heard my howls? Of course she did. She always did. I can hear the other wolves in the forest. Soon I too would be engulfed by the beast. Unable to control myself, unable to predict the beasts next move. Only she could tame the beast inside me. Why be afraid of the monster under the bed when you should be afraid of the one lying next to you under the sheets.--- I keep quiet in the deep dark night. Watching her waiting for her to come back to me. I wait for him to slip up just long enough for me to swoop in and take her. It's only a matter of time. I wait for him to turn into that hideous beast. The beast that only comes out in the light of the moon. The beast that feeds of the insentient. I have to find her,to make her perfect, at least that's what they tell me. They tell me she'll be perfect and she will be mine. She will be the beginning of a new ere the ere of the beast. Just as I thought I couldn't handle more, my heart skipped a beat, a pain I never wanted to feel again, as my entire body shut down. Honestly, whenever a new twist came, I'd say it was familiar(because the sudden situation Ellie would find herself into is) but it still caught me very much off guard nonetheless. You had a knack for making me invested in one paragraph therefore surprising me in the next. I loved that. the thrill, the suspense, the shock and pain. And because you made it first person pov, the reader could relate or maybe even see themselves in Ellie's life. I am looking forward for the sequel. "Every damn sentence you breathe is a lie. I can't even look at you without feeling sick." He flinched like her words physically hit him. "That female behind you?" she pointed, not bothering to glance. "Perfect for you. Go mark her. Breed her. Hell, fuck her for all I care." Her voice cracked - but she kept going, blade steady even when bleeding. "I don't need you. Not anymore." His knees crashed to the floor. The mighty Alpha. On the ground. For her. "Ara... I'm sorry. I'm really fucking sorry." His voice broke like he finally understood what loss tasted like. She stared at him with a sad, devastating smile. "Isn't it too late for that, Mate?" One tear escaped - and she crushed it away with her thumb. Then she turned. Walked. Didn't look back. But he didn't chase her. Because he knew. He didn't just lose her. He wrecked her.

I ran, and I ran, and I ran, trying to get as far away from the mansion as possible. I was too weak to shift, but my determination kept me running.
